Alta X - Flying Sun
We have dabbled with flying LEDs in the past, but never at this scale.
We wanted to create an LED add on that was modular, scalable, and lightweight.
The team kicked off a project about a month ago to build a prototype that would hit 500,000 lumens.
This was our first test of the full system, we are learning and refining as we proceed towards a finished product.
Dream, Build, Test, Fail, Learn, Repeat.
This is the rhythm of product development at Freefly.

seems legit but $25k? try making a decent camera that normal people can afford... take notes from dji and instago cameras(even red komodo at ~$6k); simple UI, good color/clarity, codecs for post, competitively priced. I don't doubt the tech but its just overkill when most of the camera market wants a $500- $5000 camera(or cheaper). I get it, that isn't your target market but really you are leaving money on the table because the lower end market is massive compared to high end cinematographers. Just make a good camera at a reasonable price; high megapixel, 1k/2k/4k@ 24-240fps, good io/on-body mounting points for expansion,decent color science/ hackable firmware(ibs, autofocus maybe). it doesn't have to be so complicated and expensive, we just want value for cost and at 25K(or even 8k for the wave), that's 10 $2500 cameras from your competition. Prove yourself with one good affordable (>$500) full frame camera product and you will not only create a new market for low end buyers but attract the high end buyers to the top of the line cameras. Create a camera that we can adapt to whatever we want, sony be damned. You don't even have to do the R&D just give the user enough i/o, programmable buttons(ala akai apc-20) , memory/ compute power, i guarantee people will write their own firmware to deal with camera control, lens compatibility, autofocus, stabilization etc.

Depends on timescale 1s, 10s, 1min? but around 80a. Its using samsung 40T cells
~$40,000? $7500 alone for the remote...So you're firmly marketing this to large commercial businesses, military, and larger production studios? Seems somewhat overpriced for other competitive drones already successful in a prosumer driven market... Anyways, cool drone. Not that I will ever see one in person lol.

No fear of revealing the lvl 3 out 5 trchnical details & really concerns on obsolescence. This is my exact thought on mounts and battery redundancy. Custom package batteries make even a fit product obsolete. Like Dji Osmo line, Mavic line or so on. Insta, Go Pro and so on.

I feel like compared to Samsung 40T, the Molicel P42A is a better cell - with higher capacity, better thermals and higher power output. But that's just in my opinion. This drone looks great!

Looks pretty innovative. I see a lot of people saying strange things without understanding that this is a pro drone. This is not a consumer product. Only DJI project it can be compared will be with Inspire; which most people talking about have probably never even seen. Folks it is not a Mini 4 Pro. So don't compare it with consumer drones. It will be out of league for most of the people. The lightest camera of this in Europe will need you to go through a professional flight training class. So what is the point of raising eyebrow on this? Just watch and enjoy thinking it is not for you! Definitely not for me either.

Why doesn't everyone spin the props slower? Because you cannot overcome reaction time with a finely tuned control system alone. Counter rotating props or collective pitch are the two options off top of my head.
At the system level if you pay attention to details you can have big, slow, efficient props with awesome control bandwidth (more than needed) which is what we did here. Astro is substantially more precise than a big single rotor with 700mm or 800mm blades spinning 1000 to 1300 RPM.
All stated in the video is accurate to making the best drone possible but also dji is cheaper
